<image:caption>FUNDACIÓN PROMOCIÓN HUMANA Y COMUNITARIA plans to sponsor Covid-19 testing and education in low incomes areas in southern Guayaquil. In April and May 2021, an ex-mayor of Guayaquil and another group called Progresa donated Covid-19 test kits to the Fundación and 15 health workers conducted testing of residents. However, the health workers administered the tests as volunteers. We would like to continue the program and the funding will be utilized to pay the health workers. There are 15 workers and we would like to pay them a monthly salary of $550 for full time work. We would also like to purchase additional supplies such as printing of education materials and Personal Protective Equipment as needed. In addition, we would like to also put into place a framework to begin vaccinations in communities in southern Guayaquil. Part of the funding in later phases will be utilized to prepare for vaccinations, train staff, offer them a small compensation and purchase supplies and equipment. In the long term, we hope to use Covid-19 testing and vaccinations as a catalyst for other disease surveillance programs related to infectious and chronic diseases. From the foundation’s previous work, we know that there are residents that suffer from high blood pressure, diabetes, cardiovascular programs, ocular diseases and more.</image:caption>
